Summer in the Philippines is especially also the season to remember our Mother Earth, with such events as World Forest Day (March 21,2010), Earth Hour (March 27,2010), Earth Day (April 22, 2010) you can find many ways to be involved in the Climate Change cause. More Students pledge to help the Environment

Blog

The Climate Hero Forums across the visayas region has been successful thus far. With about a dozen Climate Change forums concluded in just 2 weeks, PhilYCM is slowly but surely reaching out to the Filipino Youth and they have been responsive. As more volunteers sign on to be part of the growing PhilYCM family more pledges have been made to help the environment. But this is only the first step, PhilYCM is looking on to stay for a brighter and safer future and with the help of the youth volunteers developing and shaping this newly formed organization there is only so much to do.

Last February 12, 2010 a Climate Change forum was held in the University  of Cebu held at the Function room, Main Campus. The student council headed by President of the Student Government, Erwin Andaya along with Mark Ramos were very helpful in facilitating the forum.

Keynote Speaker Mr. Neil Nadela a passionate environmentalist and an instructor for the Environmental Science course was hailed as UC’s Climate Hero. It was clear he was deserving from the talk he shared with the students.

UC students did not only sit out the forum, wanting to be part of PhilYCM, but they also helped developed the criteria of the climate hero of which will be the bases for future climate hero awardees.
